Welcome to Good Shepherd Catholic School’s computer lab.  This lab is offered to students in grades 3-8 in order to introduce, refresh, and enhance basic computer skills. 

This year, we have been blessed with access to the brand new computer lab.  It is imperative for your child to adhere to all computer lab rules.

Computer Lab Supplies

Your child will be learning how to use computer software this year.  Projects and assignments are an integral part of this process.  I am therefore asking each child to bring his or her own  2GB USB Flash Drive for the purpose of saving assignments.

Homework

Homework will be assigned to students when needed, based on assignments being done during class time.

Nine Rules for Safe and Appropriate Use of Web 2.0 Tools

1. Be picky when selecting online tools.

2. Choose a screen name that doesn't reveal personal information.

3. Leave your public profile blank.

4. Do not provide personal information in posting or in response to unsolicited messages.

5. Think twice before posting photos.

6. Postings on the internet are not private.

7. Once it's online, you can't take it back.

8. Remember that online "friends" are strangers.

9. When in doubt, talk with a trusted adult.
